Whether you are interested in learning calligraphy to address your own wedding invitations or you’re looking for a new hobby to explore, I absolutely love teaching this modern art form to others. Due to the ongoing pandemic, I have pivoted to virtual calligraphy lessons, opening up the opportunity to work with calligraphy students beyond the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
So what’s it all about? Let me share some details.
Calligraphy lessons are all conducted live via a video conferencing service. You can choose one of my group class dates to participate in a class of up to 15 students, or select a private lesson to allow a completely personal and individual lesson experience.
You will receive a curated kit of my favorite calligraphy supplies, which will be mailed to you in time for the lesson:
Dual pen holder - oblique + straight (one holder can be used both ways)
3 nibs
pot of black ink
tracing paper for the lesson + a few extras
Lettering grids + alphabet guide
In this live virtual class experience, you’ll be introduced to the basics of pointed pen modern calligraphy, including the mechanics of using an oblique pen holder and pointed nib, ink management, basic pen strokes, the lower case alphabet, and the concept of connecting letters together.
I will provide detailed guidance on common beginner issues with learning calligraphy, and tips to help you get the very most out of your calligraphy practice. Have questions about calligraphy or want to know my tips and tricks? That’s perfect. I’ll be happy to share what I’ve learned over my years of practice and teaching.
Check out the available group and private lesson options below.
I look forward to teaching you this art I love!
